What is the thing called “I” in your mind?
Well, it’s a thought.
It’s
a thought that we use to know things. It means there’s a certain knowledge that
we use to know entities, like when we see a flower, we get this idea of identifying
it’s a flower. If it is yellow, we get this certain knowledge that figuring
knowing it is yellow in color as a thought.
Likewise,
when we see the figure of our body, we think this body is “I”. Actually, if we
cut this body into parts and spread them we can figure that nothing is there to
call as “I”. It’s a thought knowing that this body is “I”. If we see an
illusion of our mind we used to know from a thought that this mind is “I”. Some can
identify using the thought of knowing things to find out the soul is the
thing called “I”. This is the wrong awareness. Even we can say a shoe as “I” too
because we figure out the shoe as I.” I” is just a thought process from our
mind.
And there’s a connection with ego and “I”, It’s
using this “I” figure of thought as "I,” or I am higher than others, I am lower
than others, I am equal to others, I am not equal to others, like wise. These are also thoughts. Losing the
thought "I" helps to cure ego because there’s a connection
between these two.
It’s unfair not to talk about “my” when I talk
about ”I.". “My" is also a thought of capturing clinging to things. We restrict
things as “my” from a thought to capture things when we cling to them. If we
lose them, we get depressed. Thinking everything as “not my" is also a
thought. If we do like that, we won’t depress when we lose them. It’s a state of
mind. We mostly cling to desired entities and people.
"I" is also a combination of a quantum field. A combination of particles made the
thought. Until the particles hold on, the thought will exist. Soon as
the particles rhythm discharges, the thought will vanish.
Very useful
ReplyDeleteI like the content. I is the root cause Me n Mine, the ego. Indian saint, Ramana Maharshi dealt with issue of small I and Larger I in his teachings .
